1) Introduction and measurement | Incentives and institutions. Questions, times, model and assumptions. Rates of growth, GDP, real economic growth and other indicators. |
2) Classical explanations of growth | Production function, capital and labor factors, human capital (education), constant returns to scale, law of diminishing returns, exogenous growth based on technical progress. |
3) Economics of ideas | Endogenous growth based on incentives to innovate, complementarities, externalities, contextual effects, increasing returns to scale, properties of knowledge, diffusion, market structure and institutions, public intervention. |
