Biochemistry I is one of the main, and most dynamic, branches of Biology, which in turn stands as a bridge between the latter and Chemistry. As a basic discipline, the study of Biochemistry I is essential to understand the main chemical and structural properties of biological macromolecules and the relationship between these properties and the various functions they perform. It constitutes the starting point for the subsequent study of other related subjects.
