General description The course aims at providing the student with the basic concepts and methodologies of diachronic linguistics and how they can be applied to the English language.
Contingency plan 1. Modifications to the contents The contents will not be modified. 2. Methodologies All the teaching methodologies will be maintained using the University’s electronic resources. 3. Mechanisms for personalized attention to students - E-mail: Students are welcome to make any inquiries or request on-line appointments from Monday to Friday. - Teams and Moodle: Students will be supervised during official class and office hours. Individual video calls should be requested in advance. 4. Modifications in the evaluation There are no modifications in the evaluation *Evaluation observations: Students that do not pass this course in January will have another opportunity in July in which they will have to sit for a final exam (50%) and hand in a personalised activity (50%). Students who have already passed the activities assigned for continuous assessment (and have passed them according to the criteria mentioned in the in the “observations to evaluation” in the teaching guide) will not have to do it. Those students who do not sit for the test in January or July will receive an NP when they have not handed in more than 50% of the activities assigned during the semester. Students who sit for the December call will be evaluated following the same conditions specified for the July opportunity. Students who are officially registered as part time, and have been granted permission not to attend classes, as stipulated in the regulations of this University, will be assessed in either of the opportunities according to the same criteria specified for the second (July) opportunity. These students must contact the teacher at the beginning of the semester so that the different activities can be adapted to them. 5. Modifications to the bibliography or webgraphy There are no changes
