A materia divídese en dúas partes:
I. Nesta parte preséntanse os conceptos fundamentais da inferencia estatística, que permiten enfrontar a solución de problemas reais expostos en condicións de incerteza e ausencia de información sobre a totalidade da poboación.
II. Nesta parte introdúcense os fundamentos básicos da análise multivariante e explícanse algúns dos métodos de maior interese, que permiten manexar gran cantidade de información tanto sobre variables como sobre individuos, e explícanse algúns dos métodos de maior interese.
