La asignatura está orientada a suministrar al alumno, un conocimiento completo de los distintos sistemas de ayuda a la navegación, al objeto de que conociendo sus ventajas y limitaciones derivadas de los principios físicos en que se basan, puedan ser utilizados obteniéndose de ellos todo su rendimiento, en aras de una mayor seguridad en la navegación.
