General description This subject aims to provide the student with a complete base of basic terminology related with on board facilities and ship operation. Also the subject gives the student the spoken, writen, listening and reading skills to develop professional fuctions in international settings, and the required knowledge to write commercial and technical reports using commercial maritime terminology. The course includes diverse procedures recommended by the IMO to seafarers education and training following the required by the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW 78/95)

Methodologies *Teaching methodologies that are maintained Solving problems: A series of activities will be proposed that students will have to complete in their self-learning time using ICT Supervised projects: In addition to the activities proposed for collaborative learning, others will be proposed, tutored and of an individual nature in those subjects that need special study. Collaborative learning: Related to the topics of the subject, students will be required to carry out activities, in small groups, on various topics. These activities will be shared in blog format, benefiting all students from the information collected by their classmates *Teaching methodologies that are modified Keynote Speech: Master class will be scheduled through TEAMS adapting to the requirements of the students and the subject. Objective test: The objective test will consist of a synchronous telematic test on the contents developed in the subject. Oral presentation: A short oral presentation is proposed in order to check the student's progress in relation to their oral and listening skills. This test will be carried out either through TEAMS or by recording a video. 3. Mechanisms for personalized attention to students Moodle, TEAMS and email synchronously during class and tutorials.
