The objectives of Fluid Mechanics focus on the study of fluids at rest or in motion, as well as the corresponding effects on contours. The knowledge of the basic principles of fluid behaviour is essential when analyzing and designing an entire system that has an operating fluid, such as hydraulic equipment and machines. The study of the ship resistance and propeller deserves special attention.
The student must have knowledge of Thermodynamics and Mechanics as well as a solid physical and mathematical foundation.
