Nesta materia describiránse e analizaránse os procesos de ensino-aprendizaxe das Matemáticas na etapa de Educación Primaria, favorecendo o coñecemento de métodos, técnicas e recursos para o seu traballo na aula.
Tamén se quere mostrar o papel que representa a Matemática na sociedade actual e o papel que xoga no camiño hacia unha educación crítica, interdisciplinar e multicultural.
