A materia pertence ao Bloque de Formación Básica, orientada a coñecer a Fisiopatoloxía das enfermidades, identificando e definindo as manifestacións que aparecen ao longo do proceso, as estratexias diagnósticas a partiren dos síntomas e signos cardinais e os tratamentos médico-cirúrxicos, fundamentalmente nos seus aspectos fisioterapéuticos e ortopédicos.
