General description Esta materia estudia la huella genética del ADN a través del análisis de diferentes secuencias del genoma humano, así como los procesos y procedimientos utilizados para la recogida, manipulación y tratamiento en el laboratorio de las muestras a procesar obtenidas de la escena de un delito, de restos antiguos o de restos desastres en masa. También se estudia el uso de los perfiles de ADN para establecer relaciones familiares (tests de paternidad), para inferir linajes genéticos y para llevar a cabo estudios de diversidad genética de poblaciones. Asimismo, se explica y desarrollan los análisis estadísticos y tratamiento de datos necesarios para que los resultados de los análisis genéticos tengan validez tanto a nivel de investigación como legal.
Contingency plan In case of another lockdown becaus of covid19: 1. Contents will be the same. 2. In-person instruction will change to virtual-only. This means that all lectures (theory and computer labs) will be hosted using MS TEAMS. 3. Tutoring sessions and any other communication will take place by means of email, videocalls or chat as implemented in MS TEAMS. 4. The only change in the assessment will be that all students will be evaluated online. 5. The recommended reference list will remain the same. If needed, instructors will provide with any reading and/or course resources to the students.
