General description	É unha materia de introdución ás técnicas básicas de bases de datos, fundamentais para o desenvolvemento eficaz e eficiente do software de xestión. O obxectivo é dotar ao estudante dos instrumentos necesarios que lle permitan adquirir os coñecementos precisos para deseñar, implementar e manipular sistemas de bases de datos.
