General description

O obxectivo deste curso é dobre: explorar a área da saúde no sentido máis amplo dende a perspectiva das ciencias sociais e discutir cuestións centrais das ciencias sociais á luz dos fenómenos relacionados coa saúde, a discapacidade e a dependencia. Trátase de sistematizar e transmitir os principais resultados empíricos e formulacións teóricas e conceptuais producidos pola socioloxía para examinar a saúde, a discapacidade e a dependencia. A partires dunha proposta plural e aberta as distintas correntes pretende proporcionar coñecemento para entender non só os procesos e fenómenos da saúde, a discapacidade e a dependencia están intrinsecamente implicados na súa xénese, desenvolvemento e consecuencias para a cultura ea sociedade na que as poboacións viven e reprodúcense, se non tamén que tales fenómenos e procesos constitúen e son construídos como realidades socio-culturais.

3. Mecanismos de atención personalizada ao alumnado
- Correo electrónico: diariamente, para responder dubidas.
- Equipos: diariamente, para responder dubidas. Haberá unha sesión semanal para avanzar nos contidos teóricos.
- Moodle: diariamente, para entrega de tarefas, consulta de documentos e uso de foros para xestionar os debates.
4. Modificacións na avaliación
- Suprímese a exposición oral de traballos. A parte correspondente de nota engadirase aos traballos supervisados.
*Observacións de avaliación:
- Os alumnos/as que teñan recoñecemento da dedicación a tempo parcial teñen que falar coa profesora ao comezo do curso para acordar realizar un traballo individual que representará o 100% da avaliación.

- Non se fan modificacións, toda a bibliografía obrigatoria estará a disposición do alumnado en formato dixital.

LESSON 1. INTRODUCTION TO SOCIOLOGY OF HEALTH, DISABILITY AND DEPENDENCE	The body and health as a social construction. The social construction of the disease. Health and social inequalities. Individual and social model of disability. Health and quality of life. Current social debates about health: health and new forms of disease (anorexia, bulimia and vigorexia); ethics and health problems (euthanasia, stem cells, bioethics); health and legal and illegal drug dependencies.
