Os obxectivos de esta materia son: coñecer os conceptos e terminoloxía básicos referentes á garantía de funcionamento; coñecer e comprender as técnicas de redundancia que permiten diseñar sistemas de funcionamiento garantizado; e estudar técnicas de modelado e avaliación da garantía de funcionamento dos sistemas tolerantes a fallos.
