The course is focused on the critical construction of a just and egalitarian education for the youngest members of our society and for those who represent diversities that have been excluded from educational spaces. The principal lines of enquiry include:
• Approaches to egalitarian representation and participation in Early Childhood Education
• Prejudices, stereotypes, racism, xenophobia, homophobia, ableism, and other kinds of discrimination and exclusion in the schooling institution
• Models of multicultural and intercultural education
• The social model of disability
• Concepts of inclusion and integration, including a critical analysis of official and public discourses surrounding these processes
• Attention to cultural and functional diversity - communitarian vs. deficit visions
• Didactic strategies of inclusive and multicultural education at the Early Childhood Education level
