General description
The course focuses in the descriptive study of Phonetics and Phonology of the Spanish language. The student will gain knowledge of the phonological system of standard Spanish, and will acquire techniques for producing, perceiving, analysing, annotating and transcribing different types of utterances (affirmative, interrogative, desiderative, directive, etc.). He/She will be encouraged to apply empirical techniques to identify and measure discrete segmental and suprasegmental features in the speech signal produced by himself/herself.
