General description The object of the course is to introduce the student to the traditional link between the architect and industrial design. The subject is close to the discipline of industrial design and architectural figures who have developed a relevant professional activity within this field. The theoretical contents of the subject support the practices of industrial design of objects. It deals with the history of furniture; the material in the design process (wood, glass, steel); solutions with assemblies, screws and gluing; ergonomics in design.
Contingency plan 1. Modifications to the contents: The contents of the subject are not modified. 2. Methodologies: All the methodologies provided for in the ordinary teaching modality are maintained, except the trips, which are canceled. The following methodologies will be carried out in a remote mode, through the Teams and Moodle applications: - Guided discussion - Master session - Mixed test (technical and theoretical). 3. Mechanisms for personalized attention to students: - Class schedules and tutorials are maintained, which will be carried out through the Teams application. - Additional tutoring hours will be scheduled for non-teaching periods. - Students will be able to request individualized attention through Teams or email. 4. Modifications in the evaluation: The individual mixed test will be done through the Teams platform. Students without the possibility of access to the Teams platform, may substitute the individual mixed test for a supervised work proposed by the teacher, which they will deliver on the Moodle platform. This alternative tutored job will account for 20% of the grade, its weight in the grade being equivalent to that of the individual test it replaces. Evaluation observations: - The evaluation methodologies included in the Teaching Guide are maintained, with the exception of students without the possibility of connection through the Teams application, who may substitute the theoretical part of the mixed test for a specific job. - It will be necessary an active participation of the student, that allows to carry out the follow-up and evolution of the works and to verify their authorship. For this, open tasks will be available in Moodle and sessions to review them through Teams. - Attendance at sessions in Teams will be made more flexible for students who cannot follow the schedule for justified reasons, using in this case individualized attention in tutorials. - Deliveries will be made through the Moodle platform, with the same criteria established for face-to-face teaching. - The theoretical part of the mixed test will be done through the Teams platform. 5. Modifications of the bibliography and webgraphy: No modifications are foreseen in the bibliography.
