To introduce the student in the design and calculation of non-conventional structures and therefore less frequent in the normal professional activity, with special incident in light structures, roofs of big spans and buildings in height.
In view of the constant evolution of digital media and processes such as design, analysis, representation and manufacturing instruments, it is proposed that students be immersed in the use of structural analysis computer tools. For this purpose, processes based on B.I.M (Building Information Model) will be used, deepening the relationship between the information model of the building and the analytical model. The student will be able to make appropriate use of the programs available in the Laboratory of Assisted Design of the Superior Technical School of Architecture: Revit, Dynamo, or platforms of free distribution as the module Kangaroo and Flexhopper on Rhinoceros- Grasshopper among others.
Likewise, the knowledge acquired in the process of the elaboration of the project of structures will be linked with the digital manufacturing tools, 3D printers and numerical control machines available in the Digital Manufacturing Laboratory of ETSAC. To this end, a series of practices will be carried out, based on elementary examples, to enable the creation and subsequent structural analysis of small-scale models. |
