General description | Pharmacological therapy is clinical care related to the use of medications, alone or in combination with other types of therapy. In this subject, we will focus on the use of drugs in the field of podiatry. Pharmacological Therapy is a subject that is taught in the first term of the fourth year of the Degree in Podiatry and the main contents are: Specific pharmacology for podiatric use: indications, contraindications, side effects, interactions, precautions, active ingredients and specialties of: Anti-infective drugs: antibiotics, antivirals, antifungals and antiprotozoals; Opiates; Analgesics and anti-inflammatory drugs; Local anesthetics; Corticosteroids; Antidiabetics; Anticoagulants and antiplatelet agents.
