The aim of this subject is to introduce podiatry students to an interdisciplinary protocol for the assessment of the joint complex of the ankle and foot, as well as its global implications in the rest of the body segments, using the physical examination and clinical reasoning followed in the physiotherapy process. Based on clinical biomechanics, neuro-orthopaedic and functional assessment protocols are proposed from which to implement therapeutic strategies based on kinesitherapy in its different modalities and sensory-perceptual-motor re-education.
