The aim of the course is to provide the theoretical and practical knowledge of the structural and aeroelastic analysis and apply it to the checking and design of structures.
In the field of the seismic analysis the objectives are to introduce the student in the linear and nonlinear seismic analysis of structures through the study of practical cases; Know and apply existing seismic regulations (NCSR-02, NCSP-07 and EC-8); and to train in the use and interpretation of seismic calculation programs of structures (SAP2000 and ABAQUS) and in the design of seismic isolation and damping systems.
With regard to structural aeroelasticity, the wind engineering is introduced to the students. Aerodynamic and aeroelasticity of civil structures in special of bridges are studied. Experimental and computational methods are used for these analyses.
