Methodologies Description
Seminar Group work technique aimed at in-depth exploration of given topic, consisting of group discussion, individual engagement, preparation of texts and collective conclusions.
Supervised projects Supervised learning process aimed at helping students to work independently in a range of contexts (academic and professional). Focused primarily on learning ‘how to do things’ and on encouraging students to become responsible for their own learning.
Mixed objective/subjective test Mixed test consisting of essay-type and objective test questions. Essay section consists of open (extended answer) questions; objective test may contain multiple-choice, ordering and sequencing, short answer, binary, completion and/or multiple-matching questions.
Guest lecture / keynote speech Exposición oral complementada co uso de medios audiovisuais e a introdución de algunhas preguntas dirixidas aos estudantes, coa finalidade de transmitir coñecementos e facilitar a aprendizaxe.
A clase maxistral é tamén coñecida como “conferencia”, “método expositivo” ou “lección maxistral”. Esta última modalidade sóese reservar a un tipo especial de lección impartida por un profesor en ocasións especiais, cun contido que supón unha elaboración orixinal e baseada no uso case exclusivo da palabra como vía de transmisión da información á audiencia.
Introductory activities Activities used at beginning of any teaching-learning process to obtain information regarding student competences, interests and/or motivations in relation to specific learning outcomes, which educators may then incorporate in their planning to create more meaningful, effective learning experiences based on students’ existing knowledge.
