General description The objective of the External Practices (PE) course is to complete the master's training with internships at collaborating entities where students can experience the development of professional activity in a real setting. The Faculty of Computer Science (FIC) has agreements with various companies for the completion of curricular internships. The development of a PE involves: 1) The contact between the FIC and collaborating entities and their availability to accept students from the Master's in Artificial Intelligence to carry out tasks that can be developed through the PE course. 2) The contacts to define the PEs for an academic year begin from the end of the previous year. 3) The formalization of an agreement between the collaborating entity and the FIC, which will result in the assignment of the internship to a student. 4) The designation of a person from the collaborating entity who will act as the professional tutor of the student, supervising the effective development of their tasks. 5) The designation of a person from the FIC with the functions of an academic tutor who will ensure that the student follows the determined training plan, receive reports from the professional tutor and the student, and evaluate the student's work. 6) The definition of a training plan where the PE tutors define the scope of the work to be carried out by the student. PE credits can be recognized if four months (and a minimum of 400 hours) of professional experience related to the master's competencies are accredited and are subsequent to the date of obtaining the degree that provided access to the master's. Internships can be undertaken by full-time students who, at the time of application, have completed at least 50% of the credits (45 ECTS) of their degree program. In the case of part-time students, the minimum requirement is 25% (23 ECTS).
