Assessment comments

First-time, part-time and attendance-exempt students will write five essays on questions brought up by the teacher. The student can get up to 2.5 points in each essay. Only her best four essays will count for the final grade. If the student uses in an essay a string of words previously published by another author she will lose all the points obtained in all her essays and will not be allowed to present any more essays. More information in https://sites.google.com/site/microensayos/ . At the end of the semester there will be a written test in which the student can get as many points as needed to get a 10 after adding up the points obtained in the essays. The student will get 0.25 points for attending each small group session. The final grade will be the sum of the points of the essays, the test and the small group sessions. Students who submit an essay cannot get a "No show" grade. Students who do not submit any essay and do not take the test will get a "No show" grade. Non-first-time students will be graded with a test and they can get the "Honors" grade. Points obtained in previous attempts at passing the course are not taken into account.
