General description Economic Sociology is the systematic study of the social relations of exchange that individuals establish among themselves, and of the economic institutions that derive from these relations, and that at the same time condition them. Starting from this operational definition, the course focuses on the study of the nature of social relations of an economic nature, as well as the institutions related to the production, distribution and consumption of scarce goods and services, specifically markets and money. In the second part of the course, the fundamentals of the sociology of organizations are presented. We will focus on the main approaches applied to understanding the organizational models of companies, which constitute the main agents of economic activity. The course presents a high methodological and practical content.
