General description Familiarization of the students with the use of documents related to marine terminology. Understanding and writing of business correspondence. Use of standard IMO phrases. Strengthening students' written and oral communication skills in English for Maritime Communications (ESP grammar structures and Seaspeak).
Contingency plan 1. Modifications to the contents: No changes are expected. 2. Methodologies: *Teaching methodologies that are maintained: Diagramming, workbook, laboratory practice, objective test, summary, problem solving *Teaching methodologies that are modified: The remaining methodologies disappear 3. Mechanisms for personalized attention to students: Email: Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 17:00 Moodle: its frequency will depend on the assigned tasks 4. Modifications in the evaluation: No changes will be made *Evaluation observations: The tests will take place synchronously, i.e. you will not receive the tests prior to the exam date and you will have a limited amount of time to complete it. They will be conducted using Moodle/Microsoft Teams. In the event of any justified problems related to internet connectivity during synchronous exams, the affected students will be allowed to send their examination tasks via e-mail as long as they send them in the exam’s time frame. 5. Modifications to the bibliography or webgraphy No modifications are expected
