Trátase dunha materia orientada a dotar o alumnado dos coñecementos xerais sobre dificultades na linguaxe oral, na lectura, a escritura, e o dominio da linguaxe escrita en xeral. Está orientada a dotar os alumnos dos coñecementos e competencias necesarios para aplicar criterios axeitados na identificación e intervención educativa en nenos do grupo de idade que cursan a Educación Primaria e que poden presentar trastornos na linguaxe oral e escrita.
