1. The continuous evaluation will be divided into two quizzes, each involving a written (70%)and speaking component (30%). The first quiz (50% of final mark) will be held half way through the course and the second quiz (50% of final mark) will be held during the last week of class. The second quiz will be comprehensive in nature and include material from the first quiz. Continuous evaluation will be used, meaning that a passing mark on the second quiz will result in a passing mark for the course. 2. Students who have a failing mark on the quizzes will be required to take a final exam consisting of a written exam (70%) and oral exam (30%). 3. Students who pass both quizzes and wish to take the final comprehensive exam will be permitted to do so. In such cases, quiz marks will not be taken into account and the final mark will be based only on the final exam. Students who fail the final exam, will take a comprehinsive written exam in July. |
