1. The continuous evaluation will be divided into one quiz and one final examination, each involving a written (70%)and speaking component (30%). The first quiz (50% of final grade) will be held during the course and the final examination (50% of final grade) will be held during the official exam period. The final examination will be comprehensive in nature and include material from the first quiz. Continuous evaluation will be used, meaning that: a) students who fail or don´t sit for the first quiz and obtain a passing grade on the final examination will be given a passing grade for the course; b) if the grade of the final examination is higher than the calculated percentages (50% quiz/50% final examination), students will be given the higher of the two grades. 2. Students who fail the evaluation will be required to sit for a comprehensive written exam in July. Students with official exemption from attendance will be assessed as follows: 70% final written exam and 30% oral exam. |
