General description This subject aims to enable the systematic teaching of the legal order that is intended to regulate the International Society/Community, facilitating the understanding among students of the basic problems that surround it. By teaching and disseminating International Law, it is intended to contribute, to a large extent, to making the international Society and the subjects that compose it progress on the path of peace. Taking into account the essential content of this scientific discipline, his teaching is approached from a realistic vision, but with the firm purpose of involving the student in the values that inspire the international legal system, pointing out, whenever possible, suggestions for improvement. of the rules that comprise it and insisting, above all, on its compliance. In this context, one of the most important functions of teaching public international law is situated: demonstrating and convincing students that this is an increasingly relevant discipline in the training of all jurists and that they become aware of the international perspective, which gives them knowledge of the international legal system, as an essential element of the interdependent world. The university teaching function, in which an informative and a formative function is combined, must serve to train lawyers who can find professional opportunities linked to their studies, but, above all, it must also serve to train and enhance the intellectual capacities of students. so that they can and know how to deal critically with the values and social attitudes that are developed in the national and international societies of which they are a part.
