General description DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF INDUSTRIAL AND ENTREPRENEURIAL COMPLEXES 1. Introduction to industrial and entrepreneurial complexes. The factory and the industrial complex. The entrepreneurial complex. Project participants. Main procurement methods. Sustainability. Infrastructures, facilities and buildings that may include a complex. Process plants. General facilities. Facilities ancillary to the processing plant. Manufacturing and storage buildings. Offices. Laboratories. R+D+I Centers. Buildings for energy production plants. Other buildings. 2. Building materials. Characteristics, components, main properties, advantages, disadvantages and applications: steel; reinforced and prestressed concrete. Non-structural materials. 3. The soil, foundations and structures. Most common types; characteristics of foundations and structures; introduction to their design and construction; advantages, disadvantages and applications of the main types of foundations and structures. Structural diagrams for calculating the main types of structures used in industrial and entrepreneurial complexes; rough contrast of calculation results: reactions, strain, laws for bending moments, and shear and axial efforts. 4. Roofing, facades, partitions and interior finishes. Most common types; characteristics; introduction to their design and construction; advantages, disadvantages and applications of the main types of roofing, facades, and partitions. 5. Building services. Water supply and evacuation. Fire protection. Ventilating, heating and air conditioning. Electrical services. Lifts and other transportation services. 6. Building typology. Main features of the more common building systems for industrial and entrepreneurial complexes. Manufacturing and storage buildings. Offices. Laboratories. R+D+I Centers. Buildings for energy production plants. 7. Introduction to sustainability asessment.
