General description The objective of this course is to introduce students to the basics of differential calculus of several variables and mathematical programming, which will be necessary for learning other subjects of the grade and for their future career. The student will understand the basic concepts presented and the results that relate them, and will be able to properly and rigorously apply this knowledge to solving practical problems. An special emphasis will be made on the application of the course contents to economic problems, and on the interpretation of the results. Another aim is to help students develop generic skills such as analysis and synthesis, logical reasoning, problem solving, critical thinking, independent learning, or retrieving and using information from various sources.
Contingency plan 1. Modifications to the content The contents are not modified 2. Methodologies All methodologies will be carried out virtually, using the Microsoft Teams application. Classroom sessions will be recorded in the corresponding Microsoft Teams groups. In Moodle, a classroom session will also be available to all subject groups. 3. Mechanisms for personalized attention to students The mechanisms for personalized attention to the student are always virtual. For that, the available tools will be used: Microsoft Teams, E-mail, Moodle, or Telephone Service. 4. Changes in the evaluation All the planned tests will be carried out electronically (if it is not possible to carry them out in person). The format of the tests may be modified to adapt them to their virtual realization. Evaluation observations: In the virtual scenario, the final test could have a part evaluated by means of a multiple-choice test. Students may be asked to make a defense of the written test taken. Failure to defend the evidence or an unsatisfactory defense will result in a score of zero in the evidence. 5. Modifications of the bibliography or webgraphy. The basic bibliography is accessible as an e-book through the library. All the materials of the subject will be available in Moodle
