O obxectivo fundamental da materia é introducir ao alumno en comprender a importancia da marca e do comportamento dos consumidores na economía e a empresa. En concreto os obxectivos da materia son os seguintes:
1. Introducir ao alumno na investigación da política de produtos e marcas.
2. O proceso de desenvolvemento de novos produtos e a súa innovación.
3. Xestión das marcas e do seu valor.
4. Coñecemento e xestión do comportamento dos consumidores.
