Nesta materia aprenderase a analizar e procesar a información contida en diversos tipos de sinais dixitais: voz, audio, imaxe e vídeo. Para iso, estudaranse as diferentes formas de representación dos sinais e a transformación a través de sistemas, tanto no dominio temporal/espacial como no dominio frecuencial.
