The analysis of consumption as a social phenomenon is a growing field of study. The growing sociological interest in this subject is conditioned by the dynamics of the consumer society and the economic system. The consumer is becoming a key social actor in the framework of global capitalism. The aim of this subject is to study the configuration of consumer society within the framework of the development of the capitalist system. And how, in parallel, consumption is being constructed as an object of sociological study.
Students will also learn about the mechanisms by which market research is carried out.
